Cohort members are in the process of flipping their courses or promoting active learning strategies in their already flipped courses. Many faculty members in our cohort are trying to increase student engagement and focusing their curricular changes on critical thinking.
Statistics/Flipped Redesign Cohort Lead,
Ji Son, Ph.D.
About the Lead: Ji has been a faculty member in the Psychology Department at Cal State LA for 8 years. Her research is concerned with promoting transfer of learning in educational settings. Her experimental work examines the contexts and interventions that foster flexible learning in science and mathematics. In addition, Dr. Son has a record of publications documenting her collaborations with STEM faculty to examine teaching, learning, and assessment principles that promote student success. This applied work has led to opportunities to scale up data-driven principles for the classroom, department, university, and CSU level.
