In Spring 2016, the California State University, Quality Assurance program provided an Online Faculty Learning Community, “Critical Thinking through Online Discussion: Developing and Managing Effective Online/Blended Discussions.”
This cohort of CSU faculty members engaged in the scholarship of teaching and learning in a collaborative environment, structured to provide encouragement, support, and reflection. This six-week FLC consisted of an asynchronous online environment for resources and sharing, as well as three online synchronous sessions to discuss pedagogical methods in an effort to improve engagement in the online/blended classroom.
