Web Conferencing and Web Collaboration

Web conference or collaboration tools provide on-demand collaborative web meetings and conferencing to hold class online, present webinars, hold meetings for a group remotely, and for online office hours. The following functions are typically available:

  • Share your desktop, PowerPoint presentations, images, videos, and other content.
  • Stream live, and share webcam videos.
  • Collaborate using chat and whiteboards.
  • Record your sessions, and share those recordings via email or on the public web.

The CSU has adopted a system-wide license of Zoom, which offers video conferencing for up to 200 attendees, ability to have 25 simultaneous video feeds, white board, and break-out room options. The following campuses are participating in this systemwide license and are implementing Zoom: Channel Islands, Chico, Dominguez Hills, East Bay, Fresno, Humboldt, Long Beach, Maritime Academy, Monterey Bay, Northridge, Pomona, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Luis Obispo, San Marcos, Sonoma, Stanislaus.

Blackboard Collaborate

Currently, the CSU has adopted a systemwide license of Blackboard Collaborate as part of our Blackboard contract. The following campuses have adopted Blackboard Collaborate: Bakersfield, Channel Islands, Chico, Dominguez Hills, East Bay, Fresno, Humboldt, Long Beach, Maritime Academy, Monterey Bay, Northridge, Pomona, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San José, San Luis Obispo, San Marcos, Sonoma, Stanislaus

Adobe Connectadobeconnect_icon.png

Adobe Connect is used for web conferencing, social learning, webinars, and virtual conferences. It can be used on almost any device. CSU campuses who have adopted Adobe Connect: Fullerton, Maritime Academy, Pomona.
